Present
Jesus modeled a love that reaches people others often overlook. Through the stories of the leper, the paralyzed man, and Matthew the tax collector, we see that Jesus touched the untouchable, noticed the unseen, and welcomed the unlikely. He met people where they were and offered them grace, healing, and hope.
As followers of Christ, we are called to love in the same way. Rather than keeping people at a distance, we should look for opportunities to show kindness, compassion, and genuine care, helping others experience the love of Jesus through our words and actions.
Luke 5:12-32

1 Corinthians 13, Colossians 3:12
Jesus demonstrated deep compassion by meeting people in the middle of their pain. Through the story of the widow of Nain, we see that Jesus notices our hurts, cares about our suffering, and offers hope even when situations seem hopeless. His love moved him to step into a grieving mother's darkest moment and bring comfort, healing, and life.
The message reminds us that Jesus still sees our struggles today. Because of his death and resurrection, we can face grief and hardship with hope, knowing that he is with us in our pain and that a greater day is coming when sorrow, suffering, and death will be no more.
Luke 7:11-17
Jesus met one of his most faithful followers, John the Baptist, in a moment of doubt and uncertainty. Sitting in prison and facing hardship, John questioned whether Jesus was truly the Messiah. Rather than condemning him, Jesus responded with compassion, pointing John back to the evidence of God's work and reminding him that faith is built on trusting God's character even when circumstances are difficult.
This message reminds us that doubt is not the opposite of faith. Honest questions can lead us closer to God when we seek answers in His Word. Jesus welcomes those who sincerely seek Him, and we can trust that God's promises remain true even when we cannot clearly see the path ahead.

Hebrews 11:1, John 1:29, Isaiah 42:6-7, John 20:31, Romans 10:17, 2 Peter 3:9
Jesus welcomed a woman known for her sinful past and showed that no one is beyond the reach of God's grace. Her genuine repentance and faith led to complete forgiveness, demonstrating that Jesus offers hope, healing, and a fresh start to anyone willing to come to Him.
This message reminds us that Christ doesn't push sinners away. He draws them close. His love convicts us, calls us to change, and offers the peace that comes from knowing our sins are fully forgiven.

Romans 2:15, 2 Kings 22:13, Romans 7:7, Matthew 18:20, Luke 5:8, 2 Corinthians 7, Luke 13:3, Romans 4:7, Acts 2:38-39, 1 John 1:8, Psalm 32:3-5
Jesus taught that while the message of the gospel is available to everyone, people respond differently depending on the condition of their hearts. He challenged believers to cultivate receptive hearts, remain rooted in God's Word, and avoid letting distractions or worldly priorities keep them from growing in faith.
The sermon also reminded the church that followers of Jesus are called to seek and love those who are spiritually lost. Just as Christ came to rescue sinners, we are called to faithfully share His love, trusting God to grow the seeds we plant in the lives of others.
