This message begins our new series, “I Am,” by asking a simple but powerful question: Who’s going to love me? Looking at John 10, Wes shows that Jesus answers this as the Good Shepherd; one who knows us personally, calls us by name, and walks with us through every season of life.
The sermon reminds us that Jesus doesn’t just care from a distance. He protects, guides, and ultimately gave His life for us. His love is not based on performance or worthiness, but is personal, constant, and sacrificial. This is proven at the cross and offered freely to all.
This message reminds us that life can feel uncertain and overwhelming, but God has not left us unprepared. He has given us everything we need: His Word, His Spirit, and the support of other believers. We need these to walk through life with strength and purpose. Like putting on armor for a journey, we are called to rely on Him daily and grow in our dependence on Him, not our own strength.
At the heart of it all is this truth: we don’t walk alone. Through every season -whether joyful or difficult - God is with us, guiding and strengthening us. Communion serves as a reminder that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice so we could live this life equipped, supported, and fully dependent on Him.
This message reminds us that we don’t have the strength we need on our own. True strength comes from staying connected to Jesus. As the vine, He provides what we cannot produce ourselves.
The call is simple: remain in Him. When we depend on Christ instead of ourselves, His strength flows through us and produces the life we’re meant to live.
East Sunday Sermon! John 11.
We all need saving, even if life feels comfortable. The truth is that sin separates us from God, and no amount of good works can fix that. Like someone drowning with one call left, the most important question is simple: who can save me? And it’s not something we can do on our own.
Jesus answers that question: “I am the resurrection and the life.” He alone has power over death and offers eternal life to those who believe in Him. Even when life doesn’t go as we expect, His salvation is greater than our circumstances and gives us lasting hope.
