This Christmas message celebrates the promise of Emmanuel - God with us - calling the church to rest in God’s peace, worship with joy, and remember that Jesus came not only as a baby, but as our Savior. The sermon highlights how God entered our world to conquer sin and the grave, offering hope and comfort that reaches into our homes, fears, and daily lives.
Wes reflects on how God often works differently than we expect, using Mary and Joseph’s story to show that God’s plans are wiser than ours. The message then focuses on Mary’s humility as a model for believers: seeing ourselves clearly, seeing God as great, and responding with faithful obedience. The sermon closes by inviting everyone to take their next step with Jesus—whether that’s surrender, baptism, or renewed commitment—while giving God all the glory.`
Join us at 5:30 PM on Christmas Eve for a traditional candlelight service.
Joseph: An Example of Obedience” shows why God chose Joseph to care for Jesus: he obeyed God even when it was embarrassing (protecting Mary despite rumors), inconvenient (travel, sudden moves, disrupted plans), and hard to understand (trusting God when it didn’t make sense).
The sermon challenges us to “trust the Father” with our own next step: staying faithful when obedience costs something, and responding to God’s call with the same humble surrender Joseph showed.
