Pray Like Jesus

Baptism

The Bible teaches we are saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8), but in the New Testament church, a person's baptism was always the first expression of faith, not separate from it. At Millersburg Christian, we are attempting to restore the original intent and practice of baptism. Therefore, we ask a person to be baptized at the point that he/she is ready to make a commitment to Christ.

Why Should We Be Baptized?

A person should be baptized to follow the example of Christ (Mat. 3:13-17), to obey Christ's command (Mat. 28:18), to accept forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38, 22:16), to express trust in Christ (Acts 8:12-13), and to testify to God's work in his or her life (Rom. 6:1-8; Gal. 3:27). The only method by which the human soul can be wiped clean of sin is through the blood of Jesus Christ (Heb. 9:27-10:7). This "washing away" of sin is most clearly symbolized in the act of baptism (Acts 22:16; 1 Pet. 3:21).

Prayer

We have an intimate group of believers who meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM to grow deeper in their faith through study and prayer. This prayer meeting is open to anyone who wants to grow closer to the Father and become a prayer warrior who fights on the spiritual battlefield.

Praise

A typical Sunday Morning service at MCC consists of an opportunity to raise our voices together in prayer, remember through communion, and hear from God's Word through a sermon and scripture reading. We encourage through prayer, videos, and opportunities to live for Jesus beyond Sunday Morning. Here, you are invited to come as you are to grow closer to God as you experience His presence and understand His purpose for your life. We try to make everyone who comes through the door feel comfortable and welcomed. We don't imply a dress code and you will notice people dress in a variety of styles. Our aim is that you feel "at home and part of our family" when you come and worship with us.

As we sing, our worship band leads through a selection of songs each week. At MCC, our only focus is that we sing songs that honor God. He is the reason we worship. He alone gets the praise.
